5 Reasons You Should Ski At The Start Of The Season
The ski season edges closer, snow reports trickle in, inspiration builds, work is spent looking at the webcams of your favourite resort.
What are you waiting for? Find a ski resort that has some early season snow and get going.
You will find a bunch of advantages to ski at the start of the season. From money saving to a new Instagram post, you should be thinking of a weekend ski trip at the very least.
1. Save Money
Getting yourself out to the mountains nice and early in the ski season will save you plenty of money. Travel before Christmas weeks and you will save on flights and accommodation. Lift passes are usually cheaper too, with reduced rates to account for a smaller selection of lifts being in operation from the get go.
2. Be The First On The Slopes
Everyone wants to be the first and let’s face it, you are no different. Prove to your mates how much you love the snow by posting spamming social media with early ski season shots. Plus you can really wind up the office colleagues by notifying them of your pre Christmas holiday holiday.
3. New Ski Equipment
You have your brand new Oneskee ski suit, now all you need is a pair of new skis you can’t afford to buy. Fear not, all the rental equipment will be unused, make those ski boots your own and step into some factory edged skis. Perfect skis, box fresh boots, yes please.
4. Party Time
Cheap prices attract students and some resorts will be bristling, buzzing with carefree students and fresh faced seasonaires. Some of the universities have huge trips and put on big name DJs, sneak your way into these for a good time and cheap drinks.
5. No Lift Queues
Possibly the best reason if you are all about skiing or snowboarding. Quiet, near empty, resorts will leave the slopes as your own private playground. If the snow is there, hammer perfect conditions all day, lap up any powder and there’s no need to stop as you swoop through an area you have only ever known as ‘lift queue’.
