Our Favourite Ski Region for this Season…

Considering we are British, and when we get snow it generally causes stress, panic and all round national chaos on the roads, we have managed to travel far & wide to test out many of the great ski resorts across the world, where snow is far more appreciated and is a great deal more beneficial!

From where we learnt to ski in the modest resort of Morillon, in France’s Haute Savoie region within the Grand Massif, to Whistler Blackcomb, just North of Vancouver in British Columbia Canada. These are among a long list of places well worth visiting for varying reasons. However we feel there isn’t much need to go any further than just across the Channel to Avoriaz within the French Alps to get the most out of your winter experience this season.

In the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz is a place we have continually gone back to over the past decade. Its neighbouring Morzine is also a destination close to our hearts, 15 years ago it was the chosen destination for our Millenium celebrationsin our union jack top hats! Avoriaz, a great resort built on top of the mountains overlooking Morzine, has built a reputation as one of the finest ski destinations in the world, catering for all standards of skiing and ranking among the top resorts for snowboarders.

We cannot recommend it highly enough, but if you needed anymore convincing then here you go – Avoriaz has also been chosen as this years location for one of the biggest winter festivals on the planet, Snowboxx! Even bigger and better this year, maybe 12-19 March 2016 is worth popping in your calendar as a potential visit to this corner of the French Alps…
